Nestled along the shores of Flathead Lake near Lakeside, Montana, Tamarack Terrace is the thoughtful transformation of an existing lake home into a bright, modern retreat that embraces its remarkable setting. Rather than expanding the home's footprint, the renovation focuses on reimagining the spaces within, creating a more functional and inviting environment for everyday living and entertaining.

The original home was defined by a series of disconnected rooms, narrow circulation paths, and limited natural light. The redesign opens the plan to establish a stronger connection between the kitchen, dining, and living spaces while improving circulation throughout the home. Strategic interventions bring daylight deeper into the interior, creating spaces that feel larger, warmer, and more connected to the surrounding landscape.

A refined material palette of warm natural finishes introduces texture and comfort while complementing the lakefront setting. On the exterior, durable, low-maintenance materials were selected to better withstand Montana's changing seasons while giving the home a timeless architectural character.

Tamarack Terrace demonstrates how thoughtful renovation can completely redefine an existing home—improving light, flow, and livability while creating a lasting connection to Flathead Lake and the beauty of northwest Montana.
